Maryland wear & carry license saftey course
IT'S HERE!!!
Concealed Carry LLC’s NRA Certified Pistol Instructor also conducts the Marylands Wear & Carry Permit Safety course. This course requires a shooting certification. After the classroom portion of the course, the instructor will take you to a firing range. The state of Maryland requires that you show proper handling and discharging of a firearm with live ammunition and be able to qualify with an 70% score. This is a PASS or FAIL qualification course. THIS COURSE IS NOT FOR BEGINERS. THE INSTRUCTORS ARE NOT HERE TO TEACH YOU HOW TO SHOOT. Concealed Carry LLC will issue you a “Certificate of Completion” for the State of Maryland upon you successfully completing the qualification portion of this course, showing that you handled and discharged a firearm in a safe manner and achieved a score of 70% or higher. Concealed Carry LLC DOES NOT supply you with the Maryland application packet. After completing this course, you may apply for your carry permit online by uploading all the information provided to you the day of the class. You MUST be fingerprinted by a LiveScan agent in Maryland. You can do this before or after you attend this course. But you MUST get fingerprinted before you apply for your permit online.
The initial Wear & Carry Permit is a 16 Hours course / 2 day course 2 year permit
The Renewal Wear & Carry permit course is a 8 course / 1 day course 3 year permits
Class curriculum:
•Safe handling of a firearm
•Gun safety rules
•Range safety rules
•Familiarity
•Proper Storage of Firearms and Ammunition
•Holstering (techniques of holstering and defensive shooting)
•Use of Force (summary of state codes)
•Consequences (summary of state codes)
•Shooting qualification
**STAY AWAKE** If you fall asleep during class, you will be asked to leave.

Things you need to bring to class:
•Applications are done online
•Persons not prepaid MUST bring cash at the door $250 (as long as seating is available)
•Photo ID (drivers license, government issued photo ID)
•Handgun you are going to qualify with
•At least 50 rounds of factory ammunition
•Approved waist holster (must be able to retain firearm)(IWB or OSW holsters ONLY)
•Strong supportive belt (MUST have belt for your holster) WEAR A BELT
•Extra magazines (2 are helpful)(magazine holders are not required but helpful)
•Speed loaders for magazines and/or revolvers are not required but helpful
•Proper Eye and Ear protection required
•Snacks and drinks (NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES)
•If the Instructor(s) feel that ANYONE is under the influence of ANY kind (legal or not); the Instructor reserves the right to ask that person to leave
•Bring a great attitude (leave your egos home)

Instructors will NOT train you to shoot on this course!! If you cannot properly shoot, you will NOT PASS!!
ALL participants MUST be 21 or over
PAY ATTENTION to ALL gun safety and range rules!!
ANYONE NOT FOLLOWING GUN AND RANGE SAFETY RULES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!!

THIS IS A PASS/FAIL QUALIFICATION
If you just started shooting, please be familiar with your handgun and please practice. Don’t let this course be your first-time shooting. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNERS COURSE.
You are being qualified on safe gun handling as well as accuracy. It is your responsibility to demonstrate safe gun handling and use. Gun safety WILL start at inspection of your handgun.
You will be shooting live fire at various yardage.
If you are going to practice, this will be the course of fire:
– All shooting will follow the state of Maryland Basic Shooting Course:
– 25 rounds per person
– B-27 target
–3 yards-5 rounds-two handed-point position:
ROUTINE LOAD-5 rounds and assume the LOW READY POSITION
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to a DEPRESSED PISTOL position
–5 yards-10 rounds-two handed-point position:
ROUTINE LOAD-5 rounds and assume the LOW READY POSITION
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position

-7 yards-5 rounds-two handed-point position:
ROUTINE LOAD-5 rounds and assume the LOW READY POSITION
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 2 rounds in 5 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 3 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back go to a DEPRESSED PISTOL position
-15 yards-5 rounds -two handed-point position:
ROUTINE LOAD-5 rounds and assume the LOW READY POSITION
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 6 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 6 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 6 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 6 seconds, cover, SCAN, finger off the trigger and back to ready position
•ON COMMAND- raise your firearm, fire 1 round in 6 seconds, CLEAR FIREARM, PRESENT FIREARM FOR INSPECTION, and PROPERLY SECURE THE EMPTY FIREARM AS INSTRUCTED BY A CERTIFIED HANDGUN INSTRUCTOR
For a total of 25 rounds. Must hit at least 18 rounds out of 25 (70%)
All handguns must be transported according to federal and NJ state laws (non-residents also follow your state transportation laws)
All handguns will be inspected
Fingerprinting:
You MUST make an appointment with a LiveScan agent in Maryland in order to be fingerprinted
You can be fingerprinted before or after you take this course. But you need to be fingerprinted BEFORE you apply for your permit online.
If you cannot make it to your scheduled class, please let me know so I can give that seat to someone that is on the waiting list. Seating is limited.
